Pressure Injuries & Bedsores
A bedsore can be more than a wound. It may be a warning that basic care was not provided.
Patients with limited mobility may require regular repositioning, skin assessments, appropriate nutrition, moisture management, pressure-relieving equipment, and careful monitoring.
Warning signs may include:
- Red or discolored skin that does not improve
- Open or rapidly deepening wounds
- Drainage, foul odor, or infection
- Exposed tissue or unexpected deterioration
